Date Night: Gunpowder London – Tower Bridge

Gunpowder is a home-style Indian kitchen that showcases the vibrant, bold flavours of the subcontinent. The inventive, exciting, and delicious Indian food was unlike anything else. It felt different and it tasted great.  It was evident that a great deal of thought went behind each dish.

This two story restaurant, glamorously sits next Tower Bridge, which of course possesses incredible views. The location really set the tone for what was an amazing evening. Inside the venue is a stylish, contemporary design with tables spaced out nicely so your neighbour isn’t too interfering.

The Gunpowder franchise is well known for their home-style Indian sharing-plates. The idea behind it is that each guest should have around 3-4 plates each with a glass of wine or cocktail to accompany it. With such a wide variety of dishes, guests are spoilt for choice.

PAYE recommends the Spicy Venison and Vermicelli Doughnut w/ fennel and chilli chutney and the Kashmiri Lamb Chops.

Gunpowder is certainly a venue to visit if you’re looking for a date night spot, due to the quality of the food and the location. After dinner, there are an array of bars in the More London area and towards London Bridge if you’re in need of after dinner drinks.
