Date Night: London Cocktail Week Returns For The 10th Year

Every year DrinkUp.London puts on a festival like no other. Part of its roster of celebrations dedicated to everyone’s favourite social lubricant, London Cocktail Week brings together the best drinkmakers in the world and over 300 of London’s greatest bars in celebration of perfectly mixed spirits. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the festival and promises to be the biggest and best offering yet.

Each of the participating bars has been tasked with coming up with signature cocktails for the event – priced at a strikingly reasonable £6 each. The sheer number of mixologists involved in the festivities means that no matter your location (or palette), finding a participating should be a walk in the park. Gin lover? Head over to Aviary in Shoreditch and try the ‘Around the Nest’ (Tanqueray No.TEN gin, rhubarb & ginger tea, chamomile syrup, lemon juice rhubarb bitters and fresh ginger). Trying to plan an evening in Bermondsey? Then why not check out the ‘Waffle Fashioned’ (Waffle infused Jameson Irish Whiskey, sugar and chocolate bitters) at Bermondsey Social Club. With so many options, there’s guaranteed to be the right cocktail, venue and ambience for you. Or, if you’re feeling particularly adventurous, why not pick an area and bar hop for the ultimate LCW experience? All you need is the £10 digital festival pass and DrinkUp.London app to guide you.

Beyond the plethora of speakeasies on offer, LCW is also famous for the Cocktail Village – the one-stop hub of London Cocktail Week. This year, DrinkUp are taking over everyone’s favourite former brewery, The Old Truman Brewery, with 40 pop up bars from the world’s premiere alcohol companies ; including immersive experiences and hands-on cocktail making classes and, of course, a ridiculous list of cocktails for you and your date to choose from. The village also welcomes some of London’s best street food vendors and will have DJs spinning from Wednesday 9th through to Sunday evening.

Shake up your date night drinks and make sure you check out LCW this weekend.
