Reggae Star Tarrus Riley Shuts Down Electric Brixton
Tarrus Riley returned to the UK for his headlining show at South London’s Electric Brixton. The reggae artist wowed revellers, performing a slew of hits with his live band. The sound quality was excellent, and Riley kept the audience engaged throughout the entire performance with his energy, charisma, and interaction with the crowd.
The highlight of the night for me was “Gimme Likkle One Drop”- as much as I love to hear it on record, hearing it live added a new celestial experience to the song. Another treat was the middle section of the set, where he paid tribute to other reggae artists, performing some of their classic songs that had the crowd singing in unison. It was a brilliant touch that celebrated reggae’s rich history and showed his respect for the artists who helped shape the genre and clearly influenced him as a musician.

What I loved the most on the night was the crowd. A diverse mix of people from all walks of life and different generations, but everyone was there for the same reason—to enjoy the music and celebrate reggae music. The atmosphere was full of positive energy, with nothing but good vibes, people singing, dancing, and enjoying the moment together.
Overall, it was a fantastic concert with excellent musicianship, great sound, and an unforgettable atmosphere. Make sure you’re at his next show!
