The Guardsman is quietly tucked away just south of St James’s Park and within walking distance of some of London’s most lauded landmarks. Taking its experience to a new level, the luxury hotel introduces its new Royal Parks-inspired Afternoon Tea.
Their Afternoon Tea is a true reflection of The Guardsman’s personality. Hosted in their Drawing Room, the space is decadent; with its art deco meets traditional style. The choice of ornaments, paintings, gold & black accents and vintage furniture was all put together by award-winning interior designers.
Guests can tuck into a quartet of delectable sandwiches, from Burford brown egg mimosa and rocket mayonnaise served on turmeric loaf through to Goldstein Scottish salmon, cream cheese and lemon butter on sourdough.
The patisserie selection is equally irresistible, featuring delights such as Raspberry Posy, a raspberry pistachio and Chantilly cream tart, and Toadstool, a delicate strawberry and cream sponge. All of the dessert treats are inspired by the number of parks that surround the hotel giving a floral feel to treats.
Keeping to tradition, guests can always enjoy a vast spread of freshly baked fruit and plain scones served with Dorset clotted cream and preserves. Beverages-wise The Guardsmen prides itself on its tea selection, serving Canton Tea which is widely known for having a great rapport with the farmers that supply the ingredients. The teas were perfectly selected to ensure they’re still delicious even after they’ve been sitting for a long time.
The Guardsman’s Afternoon Tea is priced at £45 per person, inclusive of a glass of Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut Champagne.
Vegetarian, Vegan and Gluten-free Afternoon Teas are also available, at the same price per person.
