Date Night: Nine Lives Bar

This hidden gem, nestled in the Victorian basement of No.8 Holyrood St, is packed full of incredible cocktails, great vibes and a really relaxed atmosphere. The name Nine Lives refers to an ethos of salvation – unveiled treasures, nothing wasted, everything lovingly sourced & selected with intention.

Its new menu is full of very drinkable-sounding drinks. Not only that, but aside from a list of Nine Lives house cocktails, it’s very sensibly divided by spirit, and also by style: each drink, from negroni to daiquiri, old fashioned to margarita, comes in the bar’s version of the stripped-down classic; the bar’s reinterpretation of the drink; and a guest bartender’s version. Trust me when I tell you these mixologists know their drinks and will not let you down. With a table booking, you have a personal mixologist assigned to your group and I must personally say that the service was amazing. Drinks arrived quickly and are personalised to suit you and your preference.

Bermondsey Street is located just a short stroll from both London and Tower Bridge, which if you’re a foodie, there is a wide array of restaurants to choose from. You can visit Nine Lives after having a formal meal in More London, which consists of restaurants such as The Ivy, Gaucho’s and Gunpowder or after having a casual meal at somewhere like Padella. That’s the great thing about Nine Lives, it’s a bar for all occasions.

Nine Lives is open until 1am on weekends and table bookings are available. For reservations, visit the Nine Lives website or call 0207 407 8226
